----------------------------------------------- Version 3.5.0 - February 25, 2007 Enhancement - Calendar You can now use your mouse wheel to scroll back and forth through the months (just make sure you're not "focused" on one of the dropdown list boxes, or it will scroll instead). Enhancement - Statistics Tabs Under Windows XP and Vista, the mouse wheel will now properly scroll the grid data. Enhancement - Weight Analyzer Minor change, to make the window easier to use. Instead of "locking" a field that shouldn't change, you'll now lock the field (Height, Weight, or Body Mass Index) that you want to automatically calculate (based on the other two). Bug Fix - Windows Vista Fix to allow WeightWare to operate correctly under Windows Vista. Bug Fix - Calendar Fixed a bug that would sometimes trigger a "invalid procedure call or argument" error when switching months in the calendar. Thanks to Mark H. for reporting this bug. Bug Fix - Person Editor Fixed a bug that could trigger a "Multiple-step operation" error if you entered a password more than 24 characters long. Thanks to Bill J. for reporting this bug. Bug Fix - Miscellaneous Fixed (hopefully) several "failure to start" problems that were caused by third party software. Some anti-spyware programs (e.g., System Mechanic, Pest Patrol, AOL Security Suite) were interfering with the proper functioning of WeightWare ----------------------------------------------- Version 3.4.2 - March 23, 2006 Bug Fix - Fixed error that would get triggered sometimes if you entered an inapproriate value for Height in the weight entry screen. Thanks to Shari M. for reporting this bug. Bug Fix - Fixed rare data-related error that would sometimes trigger an error message on the Goals tab. Thanks to Joe H. for reporting this bug. Bug Fix - Fixed bug that sometimes triggered an error when entering daily weight. Thanks to Javier P. for reporting this bug. ----------------------------------------------- Version 3.4.1 - December 5, 2005 Bug Fix - Fixed minor bug that could sometimes trigger an "index out of bounds" error when entering daily weight. Thanks to Andrew M. for reporting this bug. ----------------------------------------------- Version 3.4.0 - November 9, 2005 New Graphs - Avg. Weight by Month and Week These new graphs provide another way of viewing your weight changes over time. New Feature - Password Protection Per User You can now password protect your WeightWare data. You can assign a password to your profile by using the "People" button to open your personal record. If you do assign a password, anyone using WeightWare will need to enter that password before your records can be viewed or changed. Enhancement - Weight Trend Analysis Window Added tabs for "Statistics and Planning" and "Graph". The new Graph view provides a quick way to see your current trend, and how the "best fit" trend line is calculated. This view is available by clicking on the button to the right of your trend information in the Weight and Health editor, or by clicking on the weight change icon in the upper right corner of each date in the calendar. Bug Fix - Goals Fixed a bug that would sometimes cause a Goal to be reported as "complete" when it was not. This only occurred if the Goal's starting date was prior to the first weigh-in date. Thanks to Gary S. for reporting this bug. Bug Fix - "Database in Use" Error Under certain conditions, the program could fail to start if the database is in use by another program (e.g., CycliStats). Improved error handling for this scenario. Thanks to Richard H. for reporting this bug. Bug Fix - Calendar If the first day of the month was also the first day of the week, the daily energy trend in the Calendar would display as zero, even though the trend number was correct in Graphs, etc. Thanks to Dave F. for reporting this bug. Bug Fix - Statistics Reports Fixed a bug that could trigger various error messages if the statistics page was empty when "Print" or "Print Preview" was attempted. Thanks to Sergio for reporting this bug. ----------------------------------------------- Version 3.3.1 - June 12, 2005 Bug Fix - Exercise Energy Calculator Fixed a bug that sometimes caused the Age field to be set incorrectly. Thanks to Steven for reporting this bug. Bug Fix - Calendar / Health Editor Fixed a bug that caused "Rapid Weight Gain" to be described as "Rapid Weight Loss", and vice versa. The numbers reported were correct, but the descriptions were inadvertently reversed. Thanks to Dave F. for reporting this bug. Bug Fix - Calendar Fixed a rare bug that sometimes caused errors when refreshing the calendar. These seemed to occur with non-US regional language settings, where the computer's "short date format" was set to use US format (m/d/yyyy). Bug Fix - Various Functions Fixed a bug that would cause various errors if all "Person" records in the database were removed. Thanks to Steven and Oliver C. for reporting this problem. Enhancement - Mouse Wheel in XP Fixed a bug that caused the mouse wheel to not be recognized in Windows XP. It should work now for most views, except for the "Statistics" tab (still working on solving that one). ----------------------------------------------- Version 3.3 - May 27, 2005 Enhancements - Weight/Health Editor Added a new "weight loss tips" field at the bottom of this window. You can turn these on or off by using the checkbox in the lower right corner of the window. Changed to a more pleasing color for field backgrounds. Added some explanatory text to the trend and BMI balloon popups. Enhancements - Metabolic Rate Calculator Modified to permit display of "Resting Metabolic Rate" (your underlying metabolic rate, not including an allowance for daily activity). Also, added a new field to display estimated calorie limits for healthy weight loss. Enhancements - Windows XP Minor modifications to take advantage of some of the "look and feel" features available in Windows XP. The program will now look more like a "native" Windows XP program. Enhancements - Send Email to Tech Support Added a backup mail sending mechanism. Some systems security settings block "SMTP" outgoing mail - the backup method will help in those cases. ----------------------------------------------- Version 3.2.2 - May 23, 2005 Minor changes in opening and closing messages for new users. ----------------------------------------------- Version 3.2.0 - May 16, 2005 New Feature - Graphs - Avg. Change by Day of Week Added a new graph to illustrate average weight change by day of the week. This is a good way to identify "problem days" (for me, Mondays are bad, and Thursdays are good). Enhancement - 3D Graphs You can now view your WeightWare graphs in 3D, by clicking the "3D" checkbox on the graphs tab. Enhancement - Calendar The Weekly Averages will now show how much your weekly average weight has changed from the prior week. The weekly average now also has a popup "balloon" tip that shows additional information about your weekly weight change. Enhancements - Graphs For cholesterol, blood pressure, body measurements, and lab tests, "line" graphs will now be shown with "proportional spacing" for dates along the bottom (x-axis). This should provide a better representation of changes over time. Bar graphs will continue to use equally spaced bars. Enhancement - Calendar Notes Added two new buttons so that you can Print, or copy the calendar notes to your windows clipboard. Enhancement - Statistics - Weight Summary Added "percent changed" in the "Net Change" column. This shows the percentage by which your weight has changed between the selected From and To dates. Thanks to Nancy B. for suggesting this. Bug Fix - Graphs - Cholesterol Fixed bug that caused the graph to look funny if you recorded a "Total Cholesterol" reading, without recording "LDL" and "HDL". Bug Fix - Calendar Fixed a bug that sometimes caused the month's exercise calories to be reported incorrectly in the month's popup "tooltip". Bug Fix - Calendar Fixed a bug that was causing the Moving Average Weight to be off by a little bit for the first few days of each month. Bug Fix - Calendar Fixed (hopefully) a rare bug that would cause an error during calendar refresh if there was a discrepancy between your regional language settings, and the "short date format" for your system in Regional Options. ----------------------------------------------- Version 3.1.1 - March 24, 2005 Bug Fix - Trial Version In the trial version, records would "move forward" in time when you opened the program on subsequent days. This was a recently introduced bug, related to the demo data for new users. Thanks a bunch to Paul H. for reporting this bug! ----------------------------------------------- Version 3.1.0 - March 15, 2005 New Feature - Tools - Body Weight Estimator Added a new tool for body weight estimates. If you know a person's height and age, this tool will provide an estimate of their weight. This tool is available on the Tools menu, or by clicking on the new Tools button on the toolbar. New Feature - Tools - Exercise Energy Calculator Added a new tool for estimating how many calories (or joules), you burn while exercising. This tool is available on the Tools menu, or by clicking on the new Tools button on the toolbar. Enhancement - Tools Added a new "Tools" button to the main toolbar. Enhancement - Added "Demo Dan" For new users only - to help illustrate the features of WeightWare, it will now be installed with sample data. The name of the sample person is "zz_Demo Dan". By looking at Demo Dan's records, you'll be able to quickly see how WeightWare can be used to help with weight and exercise tracking. Enhancement - Options Modified so that your "Start of Week" can be on a Saturday. ----------------------------------------------- Version 3.0.5 - February 21, 2005 Bug Fix - Weight/Health Editor Window Fixed a bug that sometimes triggered an "Invalid procedure call or argument" error when changing the date field. Thanks to Shirley L. for reporting this bug. ----------------------------------------------- Version 3.0.4 - February 18, 2005 Bug Fix - Statistics - Lab Tests Fixed a bug that was triggering a "Command not available when bound to hierarchical data" error. Thanks to Mike B. for reporting this bug. Bug Fix - New Person Fixed a bug that was causing the first health record to sometimes be saved with an incorrect Height value (and, sometimes an incorrect Weight value if using British units of weight). ----------------------------------------------- Version 3.0.3 - February 6, 2005 Enhancement - Graphs - new "Weight Only" option Added a "Weight Only" graph, as suggested by Shirley L. (sometimes simpler is better...a fact that software developers sometimes overlook!). Enhancement - Graphs - Weight and Moving Average Added a light yellow "Overall Average Weight" line. This line shows the average weight for the selected time frame (in other words the average of all of the weights recorded between the From and To dates). Enhancement - Exercise - Calories Burned Improved the estimate for energy burned in exercise, by applying the "Harris-Bendict" formula to derive base metabolic rate. This should be more accurate than using the default value (1 calorie/kg of body weight/hour). Bug Fix - Exercise Fixed a bug that was incorrectly calculating energy usage. This bug would only happen if you were using "Joules" for energy tracking. ----------------------------------------------- Version 3.0.2 - January 23, 2005 Bug Fix - Calendar (Exercise) Fixed bug that was only showing one exercise in the "balloon" popup, even if more than one exercise was recorded for that date. Bug Fix - Calendar Fixed bug that sometimes caused program "lock up" when switching months. Bug Fix - Calendar Notes Fixed a minor bug that was causing the wrong note to sometimes be displayed when clicking on Next and Previous note buttons in the Calendar Notes window. ----------------------------------------------- Version 3.0.1 - January 21, 2005 New Feature - Exercise Tracking You can now keep track of your exercise activities in WeightWare! Click on the "New Exercise" toolbar button, or do a right-mouse click in the Calendar to add an exercise to any date. Weekly, monthly, and yearly exercise statistics can be seen in the Calendar, and on the Statistics, Graphs, and Exercise tabs. New Feature - Calendar Notes You can now attach a free-form Note to any date in the Calendar. To use this feature, just do a right-mouse click on the desired calendar date, and select "Add new Note" from the popup window. New Feature - "Links" This feature allows you to attach a link to external files or websites to your records in WeightWare. Typically, these links will point to documents and photos on your computer, or to web pages. For instance, if you create a Calendar Note for a 5K run two months from now, you can add a link to the run's website. This will allow you to quickly open the run's website with a single click of the mouse. The Links can be attached to any of your records for: Person, Calendar Note, Health/Weight, and Exercise. Enhancement - Calendar Day Removed daily weight change from each day's numbers. Daily weight fluctuates too much to be useful in a weight loss program - it's the longer term trends that are more important. Enhancement - Calendar Day Added 30-day energy trend to each day's numbers. This is a very good way of keeping track of your weight trends over time, and an important tool to help you keep on track. If your 30-day energy trend is less than zero, it means you have been consistently losing weight. If it is above zero, it means you have been consistently gaining weight. If it has been below zero, but is getting closer to zero, it means your weight loss program is off track, and you need to take immediate action to get it back on track. New Feature - Calendar Icons Added icons to the calendar day. These will be used for various purposes. The first ones added provide a graphical indication of your 30-day weight trend. See the Calendar Help for more details. Enhancement - Calendar Week Revised the weekly summary, to show the week's average weight, and average 30-day energy trend. These are more meaningful numbers than the week to week change shown previously. Added an icon for weekly exercise summaries - hover your mouse over the icon and you'll see a summary of each week's exercises. Enhancement - Calendar Year If you hover your mouse over the "Year" dropdown, you'll see a "balloon tip" summary for the year to date. Enhancement - Calendar Month Picker Added a new Month Picker button between the calendar's Month and Year dropdown lists. Clicking this button will bring up the new Month Picker tool, which should allow for quicker navigation in the Calendar. Enhancement - Weight/Health Editor Window Modified the tooltip for Body Mass Index (BMI), to also display your "weight percentile". Your weight percentile is calculated using US averages, and allows you to see how your weight compares to others of your same height, age, and gender. To see this new tooltip, simply "hover" your mouse over the BMI field. Ehancement - Graphs - 30-day Weight Trend Added a green horizontal line in this graph, which shows your weight and energy trend over the entire timeframe selected for the graph. Also, added a red horizontal line at zero, to make it easier to determine which days are above zero, and which are below. Enhancement - Weight Analyzer (BMI) Modified this window for ease of use. It now uses more "up/down" controls to allow for easier "what-if" analysis, and also now permits entry of Height in feet and inches (if American distance units are selected in Options). Enhancement - Statistics - Health Summary Modified "Sleep" so that it shows hours and minutes, instead of decimal hours (i.e., 7:30, instead of 7.5). Enhancement - Statistics - Exercise by Week / Month Using these two new views, you can see summaries of your exercise activities by week or month. Enhancements - Optional Backup Folder In the Options window, you'll now see a new "Optional Backup Folder Location" field. If you enter a valid folder name in this field, whenever the program shuts down, your database will automatically be backed up to this folder. Thanks to Ray D. for suggesting this. Bug Fix - Dates Manually entering a really odd date (for example, November 17, 0202) could trigger an error when later using the "Date Picker". Thanks to Peter F. for reporting this bug. Bug Fix - Error with no People in database Fixed a bug reported by John H. that could trigger an error if the database contained no People records. ----------------------------------------------- Version 2.3.1 - November 1, 2004 Bug Fix - Calendar Doing a right-mouse click over the Weekly Summary could trigger an "infinite loop", resulting in the program becoming unresponsive. ----------------------------------------------- Version 2.3.0 - October 29, 2004 New Feature - Weight/Health Editor Modified some fields to hightlight them, and provide additional information on weight trends. Added "Next Record" and "Previous Record" to allow for quick navigation through your health records. Bug Fix - "Invalid Use of Null" Fixed bug in database access code that was sometimes causing this error (especially for folks who were using the CycliStats bicycle training diary software, which shares the same database with WeightWare). Thanks to Harold I. for reporting this bug. Bug Fix - Weight/Health Editor Fixed bug that could trigger an error when printing this window. Bug Fix - Body Fat Calculator Fixed bug that sometimes caused an error. Thanks to Nancy B. for reporting this bug. ----------------------------------------------- Version 2.2.0 - October 3, 2004 Graphs - added 12 new graphs: Body Mass Index (BMI) Blood Glucose Cholesterol Triglycerides Abdomen/Waist Size Hips Size Chest Bust Thighs Calves Forearms Neck Modified so that the Graphs refresh more quickly after changing From and To dates with the date picker. Modified so that graphs showing Weight Goal, will show the weight goal trend for whichever time frame you select. Previously, the graph would only display from the Weight Goal start date. Thanks to Peter F. for reporting this bug. Added new "Time of Day Format" option to the program Options window. This will allow you to see either 12 hour time of day (AM/PM), or 24 hour time of day. Modified the 30-day Trend graph, to show the overall trend for the selected time frame. Fixed minor bug in Goals Wizard. Its recommendations for weight loss percentage of current weight were too high by 1%. ------------------------------- Version 2.1.0 - September 6, 2004 Modified Weight/Health entry window, to show more information via "balloon tips". Added new Weight Trend Analyzer tool, to help understand the meaning of your weight trend numbers and allow for "what if" analysis. This tool is available from the Tools menu, or from the Weight/Health entry window (by clicking on the "Help" button to the right of the Weight Trend field. Modified database startup routine, to automatically detect and attempt to repair any "corrupt database" or "database not found" scenarios. ------------------------------- Version 2.0.0 - August 30, 2004 Added new fields to the Health/Weight entry window to show each day's 30-day trend, moving average weight, and the change in weight from the previous entry. These changes should make it easier to track your progress. Added new multi-line "balloon tips" to the Calendar tab, to show additional information about the weight record for each day. This change should make it easier to review previous weight entries - you can simply "hover" your mouse over each date instead of opening that day's weight entry. Re-ordered tabs for ease of use. The "Graphs" tab will now be the 3rd tab, and the "Health History" tab will be the 5th tab. Modified the Weight Goal Wizard for ease of use. Added "Start Date", so that you can now control the starting date for your weight goal. Thanks to Elissa M. for suggesting this improvement. Enhanced "Date Selector" with support for setting both from and to dates with a single window, and the ability of the program to "remember" date settings (e.g., "Last 60 Days"). Fixed bug in Health entry "Save" function that could result in a person's Height getting set to an incorrect value. Added "reasonableness" test for Height to help prevent accidental changes. Thanks to Elissa M. for reporting this issue. Modified "Sleep" field on the Health Editor for ease of use. You can now enter sleep hours and minutes. ------------------------------- Version 1.5.4 - July 28, 2004 Fixed bug in new Person window that caused the OK button to stay grayed out. Fixed minor bug that could trigger an error when deleting a person from the database. ------------------------------- Version 1.5.1 - June 17, 2004 Fixed bug in Weight Goal Wizard. It was not allowing new goals to be saved. Thanks to Nancy D. for reporting this bug! Added some additional logging for program option settings, to make it easier to resolve problems and find bug. ------------------------------- Version 1.5 - June 17, 2004 Added support for display of weight in British units (stone and pounds). Debugging - added some additional debugging code to help resolve intermittent "out of memory" problems reported on older Windows systems (98 and ME). ------------------------------- Version 1.4 - June 7, 2004 Main Toolbar Added new buttons to allow quick access to the Weight Analyzer, Weight Loss Planner, and the Goal Wizard. Graphs Added new graphs for: "Weight vs. Goal Weight" "Moving Average Weight vs. Goal Weight" "Weight Trend vs. Goal Weight" These graphs will allow you to quickly compare your actual weight changes compared to your goal. Calendar Modified so that if the Min or Max weights occur more than once during the month, all occurrences will be highlighted (green or red, respectively). BMI Calculator Changed name to "Weight Analyzer". It now fills in Waist size from the most recently recorded measurement. Added progress bar for weight percentile, and color coding for other fields to assist in interpretation of results. Added "Print" button. If you need to track more than 10 people, you will need to use WeightWare Pro. Trial Version Reduced the trial version time period from 30 days to 45 days, for marketing reasons. If you need an extension of the 30 day trial, please send an email to: WeightWareSupport@shastasoftware.com Bugs Fixed unreported bug that would cause an error if To Date prior to From Date. ------------------------------- Version 1.3.4 - May 27, 2004 Fixed errors triggered by "no Person in database". Graphs Modified "30 Day Calorie Trend" to show weekly weight loss (or gain) equivalent along the right Y axis. ------------------------------- Version 1.3.3 - May 24, 2004 Fixed bug that caused options to switch from Metric to Imperial when the Weight/Health entry form was opened by clicking a date in the Calendar. ------------------------------- Version 1.3.2 - May 19, 2004 Fixed bug in "30 Day Weight Trend" graph that sometimes resulted in the graph not scaling properly in the Y axis. Modified install routines to consistently place a WeightWare shortcut on the desktop. ------------------------------- Version 1.3.1 - May 13, 2004 Fixed annoying little startup bug that would trigger an error upon first entry of a person. This only occured the very first time the program was run (arrrgh!). Thanks to "lauralee" for reporting this bug. ------------------------------- Version 1.3 - May 12, 2004 Added new "Weight and Moving Average" graph. This graph shows actual recorded weights, plus a moving average weight line. Added new "30 Day Calorie Trend" graph. For each date in the graph, WeightWare calculates your calorie deficit or surplus over the preceeding 30 days.
